WordPress with Tutor LMS

A school on WordPress: Tutor LMS brings a drag-together course builder, quizzes with earned certificates, and a separate panel for each teacher who signs in. As with every app from the catalog, the plugin comes pinned to one version from wordpress.org, its checksum verified, on a WordPress whose settings start out safe.

What it makes

• A WordPress site at 512 MB of memory and half a processor, which carries a school of small courses well. Whenever the roll grows, move the ceilings: the charge stays tied to real use. See limits.

• A MySQL database of its own, connected to the site as it is made.

• A free address with HTTPS, and the project's backups, the first one taken once the site is ready.

Install it

Asha's cousin runs photography classes and wants a school her students can reach at any hour.

1. On the project's Overview, press Add a service and choose From the catalog.

2. Look for WordPress with Tutor LMS, then Install it.

3. Give it an App name like school and the Admin email you'll manage it from.

4. Read the limits and the monthly estimate, then press Install.

Note the password it shows once: after I've saved it, it is gone from the screen. The card then shows each step as it runs.

Sign in at the address shown on the card, with /wp-admin/ at the end. The first hour is well spent:

1. Tutor LMS → Courses → Add New — build the course in the builder: topics, then lessons inside them.

2. Drop a quiz into a lesson and set the mark students need to pass.

3. Tutor LMS → Settings — teachers, students and how a course is paid for, if it is.

Updates

Nothing to schedule: the plugin and WordPress update themselves, and the project's backups keep every version of a course. A lesson deleted in error comes back with a restore. The WordPress page tells more.
