PHP hosting .htaccess included.

Bring your PHP files, or a cPanel backup's public_html, and they run as they did, .htaccess and all. Edit any file in the browser, set your PHP version and settings, and run your cron jobs with their output kept.

Two ways to run PHP.

Choose the one that fits how you work today. Both run in their own sandbox, with the same PHP versions and extensions.

FileWhat we do with it
PHP siteYour files live on the site's disk and change in place, as on a classic host. Start empty, or with a ZIP. Nothing is rebuilt.
public_html/In a ZIP, its contents become the site. The rest of the ZIP is kept aside in a from-zip folder for you to look at.
PHP appCode from GitHub or a ZIP, built fresh on every deploy: we run composer install from composer.json and serve public/ when it's there.
tanzahost.jsonOptional, for apps: the PHP version, extensions, php.ini settings, system packages and commands.

Like your old host, without the shared server.

Every PHP site has its own sandbox, files and memory. One hacked site can't reach another, which is how most shared hosting goes wrong.

  • .htaccess works

Rewrites, redirects and access rules work as you expect, so a site moved from cPanel changes nothing in its files.

  • Small when it's quiet

PHP starts one worker at rest and up to 8 under load, so a quiet site holds little memory and costs little.

  • Changes without downtime

A new PHP version, extension or setting restarts the site side by side. Your files stay as they are.

A file manager built in.

Browse, search, upload and edit your site's files from a laptop or a phone.

  • Upload whole folders, or big files in pieces that carry on after a dropped connection, and extract a ZIP where it lands.
  • Edit PHP, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, JSON and .htaccess with colours. The version before each save is kept for 7 days.
  • Deleted files wait in the trash for 7 days, and every change is in the activity log.

Your php.ini, and your cron jobs.

Set the largest upload, the memory limit, and the time limit, and add the extensions you need: bcmath, gd, imagick, intl, mysqli, pdo_mysql, redis, soap, zip and more.

  • Scheduled tasks

Up to 10 per site, like php scripts/report.php every 5 minutes, as often as every minute, each with the output of its last 20 runs.

  • A database next door

Add a shared MySQL or one of your own to the same project. Only your project can reach it, unless you open your own to your tools.

  • Logs and a terminal

See every error and visit live, and open a command line inside the site's sandbox.

Every PHP from 8.0 to 8.5.

Pick the version when you add the site, and change it any time on its page. An app uses PHP 8.4 when composer.json and composer.lock accept it, otherwise the newest version they all accept, or the one you pick.

End-of-life versions show a warning and the date they're removed: 31 December 2027 for PHP 8.0 and 8.1. PHP 7.4 is kept only for sites moved from cPanel.

A PHP site, priced in the open.

Say a company site holds 0.1 GB of memory and uses 1% of a processor, awake all month. You pay for that use, counted every minute and paid by your saved card. The limits you set cost nothing by themselves.

Memory is $5.99 per GB a month and a processor $11.97 a month, counted by the minute. Its files on disk are $0.15 per GB a month, and a shared MySQL database is $0.50 a month.

Step-by-step guidePHP
Can I move my site from cPanel?
Yes. Make a full backup in your cPanel and bring it to Move from cPanel on your dashboard: every site, database, mailbox and DNS record moves, free. For one site alone, start a PHP site from a ZIP of its public_html folder and import its database as a SQL file.
Can I upload files over FTP?
No. Use the file manager: it uploads whole folders and big files, and carries on after a dropped connection.
Which should I choose, a site or an app?
A site, when your files change on the server, as with a classic PHP site. An app, when your code lives in Git and every deploy should start fresh, as with Laravel or Symfony.
Can I use PHP 7.4?
Only for a site moved from cPanel, so it keeps running while you update it. It no longer gets security fixes.
