App settings

The Settings tab of an app or site, in sections: Build and run, Scaling, Access, Email, Maintenance and the danger zone.

Updated 27 Oct 20261 min read

An app's Settings tab is one column of settings, in sections, with links to each section at the top:

  • Build and run: where the code comes from and its branch, Deploy every push (on or off at any time, and which branch), the language and its version, the start command, the health address, the command before going live, the folders kept between deploys. The same can live in your code's tanzahost.json: see the settings file.

  • Scaling: its limits, its copies, and whether it sleeps.

  • Access: SFTP and SSH, the deploy address, protection and speed, and the paths hidden from visitors.

  • Email: sending email from the app.

  • Maintenance: see Maintenance mode.

  • Danger zone: move it to another project, stop it, or delete it.

A site's Settings tab has its PHP settings first, then the same sections.

How saving works

A switch saves at once, and says so. A form has one Save, which you can choose once you've changed something.
