Your move to Tanzahost Cloud

For our cPanel customers: move your account with its backup file, keep your prepaid time, and meet the new dashboard, webmail, wallet and phone email.

If you host with us on cPanel today and got an email about your move, this guide is for you. Your account moves with one file, the full backup your cPanel makes, and you stay in charge of when each domain switches. Your cPanel account keeps running, untouched, until you switch.

Take Asha: her shop asha.example runs on her cPanel account with us today. She got an email inviting her to the new dashboard.

1. Set your password and check the move

The email's link sets your password. Log in with the email address our message went to. Under Move from cPanel you see what you paid on cPanel, what your account would cost here a month, and:

  • The time you've already paid for comes back as credit in your wallet when the move is done, day by day: Asha paid for a year ending 31 March 2027 and moves on 1 November 2026, so 150 days come back.

  • For your first 12 months, you never pay more than your old plan: anything above comes back as credit on the 1st of the next month.

2. Bring your backup file

In your cPanel, open Files → Backup → Download a Full Account Backup, choose Generate Backup, and download the file. Then bring it on the same page: upload it, or paste a Google Drive or Dropbox link to it. If you'd rather not, ask our support team: we can make the file for you and prepare the move, and you only check it and click Move it.

Nothing is made in your account before you click Move it, free on the plan.

3. The plan, the move and the switch

Everything after that is the same for everyone moving from cPanel, and Move from cPanel with your backup file walks through it step by step:

  • The plan: your sites, databases, mailboxes, DNS records and cron jobs, read from your file, with anything you can leave out.

  • The move: everything arrives on free addresses while your cPanel account keeps serving your visitors. Each site is checked for malware before it answers.

  • Your email: once you add one TXT record in your cPanel's Zone Editor, your mailboxes and every message are made here, with the passwords you have now.

  • The switch, one domain at a time: bring a fresh backup on the day so the newest orders and messages are here, then change your domain's nameservers to ns1.tanzahost.com and ns2.tanzahost.com. Your cron jobs start when the domain is seen here.

  • One more backup a day later, for email that still reached cPanel while the change spread. We remind you after 1 day and 7 days.

If something on the new site doesn't work as it did, open a ticket from the dashboard: during the days around your move, our support team watches your account first. Going back is pointing your nameservers back at cPanel: the switch page shows the records your domain had there.

Your new dashboard

Asha opens her dashboard and sees her project with her shop in it.

  • Your site shows whether it's running, its visits, its logs and its PHP settings. Its File manager edits any file, from a laptop or a phone.

  • Your databases show their size and their backups, and open in our own database manager.

  • Domains show your domain and its DNS records. Changing a record works as in cPanel's Zone Editor.

  • Email lists your mailboxes, their forwarding, filters and auto-replies.

Adding something new, like a second site, is the Add a service card in the project. See PHP sites.

Webmail

You read and write mail in your browser at mail.tanzahost.com. Log in with your full email address, like asha@asha.example, and the password it had on cPanel. Its folders and messages came with it.

Email on your phone

Phones and Outlook that already had your mailbox keep working with the same password once your domain has switched: nothing to change. To add the mailbox to a new phone:

  1. On your phone, add an email account and type your full email address.

  2. When it asks for a password, use the mailbox's password, or an app password you make in your dashboard under Email, for that phone alone.

  3. If your phone asks which kind of account, choose IMAP.

An app password is only for one phone or mail app. If you lose the phone, remove it in the dashboard: it stops working at once.

Your wallet

Tanzahost Cloud is paid by a saved card, for what your services use: we count it every minute, and your card pays when your use reaches your line and at the end of each month. You can also top up your wallet with a card, Apple Pay or Google Pay, and that's used first. The credit from your move is used before either.

  • Save a card in the dashboard's Wallet, in US dollars. Top up there too if you like.

  • If your card can't pay, we email you, and your wallet is prepaid until you sort it out. We email you before its balance runs low, and again if it runs out. Your services keep running for a grace period after that.

  • You can set a spending cap for the month.

See Your wallet, card and top-ups and Spending cap.

Questions people ask

Do my passwords change? No. Your mailboxes keep their passwords, and your sites' own logins, like WordPress's, move with the site. A very old kind of mailbox password is kept too, and you're asked to choose a new one within 30 days.

Do I choose the day? Yes. Each domain switches when you change its nameservers. If our team agreed a date with you, we remind you before it.

Do I need to change anything at my domain registrar? Yes, one thing: its nameservers, to ns1.tanzahost.com and ns2.tanzahost.com. If your domain's records are kept somewhere else, like Cloudflare, the switch page shows exactly which records to set there instead.
