Databases next to your apps

Add MySQL, MariaDB, PostgreSQL or Valkey to a project. Only your project's apps can reach them, and the connection details are added for you.

Updated 26 Oct 20261 min read

Your apps' data now lives next to them, in the same location.

What's new

  • Four kinds: MySQL, MariaDB, PostgreSQL with connection pooling on, and Valkey for a cache, sessions or queues. Apps written for Redis work with Valkey.

  • Shared or its own: a small site can use a shared MySQL. Every other database gets its own memory and processor, with limits you set and use you pay for.

  • Private to your project: only your project's apps can reach a database, even with the right password.

  • No passwords to copy: tick Add its connection details and your app gets DB_HOST, DB_PASSWORD and the rest as variables, then redeploys without downtime.

  • Passwords and users: change the main password whenever you like, or add up to 10 extra users, each reading and writing or reading only.

  • Its own page: connection details, which apps use it, and its numbers.

Asha added a MySQL called mysql to duka from Overview, under Add a service. A minute later her Laravel shop connected, with nothing typed by hand.
